We are pleased to announce that we have now launched a Free Will Scheme from the 1st October 2024 with our 2024 Charity of the Year, The Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust.
With the launch of this new Scheme, the charity are encouraging local people to make or amend their Will for free. In return, and while there is no obligation, it is hoped that those taking part will consider leaving the incredible charity a gift in their Will to help secure the future of hospice care in Andover.
Karen Clarkson, Marketing and Business Development Manager, commented on the scheme, “We are so pleased to be able to support The Countess of Brecknock Hospice Trust with their Free Wills Scheme. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with them over recent months as our Charity of the Year, visiting the wonderful hospice itself, taking part in their 10@10 Charity walk and other initiatives. The fact we can further support them in this way while also helping break down barriers for those who have been putting off drafting or updating their Will is important to us to ensure everyone has access to writing this important document to protect their future.”
Charity Director, Michele Gard, said: "We are delighted to collaborate with Parker Bullen LLP on our new Free Wills Scheme. Legacies are vital to the future of our hospice, ensuring that we can continue providing compassionate care and support to our patients and their families. This partnership offers a meaningful way for individuals to secure their own future while making a lasting difference in our community."
Why make a Will
Having a valid Will is the only way you can ensure that your home, possessions and money go the people you care most about. Without a Will, you will be dying intestate, which means your property and possessions will be distributed according to intestacy laws. By creating a Will, you can ensure that your assets are given to the people or organisations you choose, such as family members, friends, or charities.
How the Free Will Scheme works
Should you wish to take part in the Free Will Scheme, you can contact the team on the details below to book your initial appointment. The Scheme includes either a single or joint Will to include simple instructions. Should there be any further requirements relating to Trusts, or you also wish to create Lasting Powers of Attorney, there will be additional costs that the team will discuss with you.
As a regulated law firm, we are required to carry out ID checks on all clients. This is charged at £15 plus VAT per person for the ID checking facility, which is not included in the Free Will Scheme.
