We are proud to announce that we have raised £3,248.41 for our chosen Charity of the Year for 2022, Julia’s House Children’s Hospice.
Julia’s House provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at the charity’s hospices.
“Working with the team at Julia’s House during 2022 has been an absolute pleasure and we are so pleased that our involvement has raised such an incredible amount,” commented Karen Clarkson, Marketing and Business Development Manager for Parker Bullen. “Our Charity of the Year Programme is a very popular one, nominated and voted for by our staff. We have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in different initiatives such as the Great Wiltshire Walk, volunteering at the Big Easter Egg Hunt at Wilton House and hosting a raffle at our annual Summer Client party. I was also particularly moved to visit the Hospice based in Devizes and see first-hand the amazing and important work the centre provides. To know that the funds and awareness we have raised is going to such a wonderful cause is a great moment for us as a firm and for all the staff who took part.”
In 2023, Julia’s House will celebrate their 20th anniversary, marking two decades of providing life-changing care and support to the most seriously ill children and their families in Dorset and Wiltshire. In order to continue to provide these services, the charity works diligently to raise 92% of their operating costs, with just 8% provided by the Government. With the amount we have raised, this could supply 10 sessions of crucial respite care and specialist play activities in families’ homes to give them a much needed three hour breathing space to rest and recharge.
Julia’s House Public Fundraising Manager, Alice Chalmers, said, “We’re hugely thankful to everyone at Parker Bullen for their incredible support for Julia’s House children’s hospice over the past year. They have been absolute stars – bringing passion and whole lot of energy and smiles to every event they’ve taken part in. We rely almost entirely on donations to provide our lifeline of care, so the money they have raised will make a real, lasting difference for the local children and families who depend on us.”
